YOUR CONTRIBUTION
There is so much hurt and pain in this world, but one small action can help change that. Through your Declare Clothing purchase, 5 % goes to helping fostered and abandoned babies in South Africa.
This is achieved through supporting the following NPO:
TSWALO HOUSE, BABY HAVEN
Their vision is, with Christ’s help, to bring wholeness to vulnerable children. They provide children with a loving home, discipleship in the word, the presence and the power of God. They want to see children return to the joy of childhood. The house has a family setup, with 6 babies aged from 0-3years. It functions as a safe home for abandoned, abused and neglected babies
To declare the good news and truth over babies lives, while helping those who are fostered and abandoned.
To declare truth in the fashion industry through implementing sustainble and ethical practices. To deliver excellent quality, long lasting children’s apparel.
Through this we hope to educate consumers about the impact of their clothing decisions, and encourage them to start supporting slow fashion and conscious consumption.
I’m a South African, born and raised in Pretoria, with a deep love for the Lord, people, and the outdoors. When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me trail running in the mountains or enjoying a good cup of coffee.
After completing my BConsumer Science degree in Clothing Retail at the University of Pretoria, I was confronted with the harsh realities of the fashion industry — from the health impact on cotton farmers and surrounding communities to unethical and unsustainable production practices. I saw a gap that I could help close.
I’ve always had a heart for helping others, and I wanted to use what I had learned to be a blessing. Declare Clothing was born out of a step of obedience — a response to what I believe God was calling me to do: to speak truth over children’s lives and bring light into the fashion industry.
In South Africa, where many children face abandonment and hardship, the heart behind Declare Clothing is that every child would know they are known and deeply loved by their Heavenly Father — fearfully and wonderfully made for a purpose.
I’m passionate about creating clothing that’s not only beautiful, but also ethically and sustainably made — clothes that are built to last and bless families. Through Declare, I hope we can help rewrite stories and bring joy — one piece of clothing at a time.
With love,
Kirsten
